Many Happy Returns
The Professor has reappeared from his complicated travels, having contrived to touch down in Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland in the course of the last 36 hours. It all seems to have gone very well, and many strange and wonderful things have been seen. He’s brought back some of the proper flour for soda bread, a reliable recipe, having been shown how to do it by a nice lady in a B&B in the County Tipperary, some very decent Irish cheese called Gubbeen, and a splendid poem about our house by the Welsh poet laureate. I, meanwhile, have finished drafting the first half of the current novel, and have a rough idea of what’s in Part 2. It doesn’t add up to much that is bloggable, but those twelve words represent a great deal of time and energy.
